The LEAP program is for Grade 8 students who are on an essential/locally developed pathway and who are currently feeling disengaged from school. It provides experiential and project-based learning to meet the varied learning styles of disengaged Grade 8 students. The skills acquired during the year will assist the student in Grade 9 by promoting:
- re-engagement in school
- basic skill development in numeracy and literacy
- development of social skills through collaborative learning opportunities
- use of technology to support skills acquisition where appropriate
- develop positive self-esteem as a learner.
Credits earned
Students in the program will be able to earn up to 4 (four) credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
