More than 4,000 students from Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville attended Grade 12 in the Halton District School Board this year. Of all these students, many graduates are preparing to embark on a new journey at university or college in the fall.
To celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates, we’ve profiled a few of the many students from across our Board who are receiving scholarships and awards for post-secondary education this year.
Rohan Atal, graduate of Iroquois Ridge High School, is a recipient of a Chancellor’s Scholarship from Queen’s University. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate superior academic ability, creative and original thinking and proven leadership qualities. Students who receive this scholarship are nominated by their high school.
“IRHS played a strong role to prepare me for my future and in helping me obtain this scholarship,” says Rohan. “Mrs. Patterson stands out as a guidance counselor who went above and beyond to support me in my journey through Grade 12 and further in life. I also received significant support from teachers through the form of references and guidance. The positive environment at this school was one of the primary factors that enabled my success.”
Rohan plans to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Queen’s University.
We wish all our graduates success as they pursue their post-secondary studies.
