An interview with each student and their parents/families provides helpful information regarding previous school experience, migration history and experiences, family situation, student's strengths, and interests.
Placement decisions are based on the following:
- School documents, if available (report cards, school records)
- Prior Learning Equivalency Credits for credit-granting purposes (for example, international language credits for first language proficiency).
All students receive information about the range of language support available and develop an education plan.
