The Halton District School Board congratulates
Abby Robitaille (winner in her Grade 10-12 category) and
Ganga Kandanchatha (Grade 7-9 category) on being named finalists in the national CBC Books'
The First Page student writing competition. More than a total 2,400 entires were submitted.
Robitaille, a Grade 10 student at White Oaks Secondary School, tackled oppressive dictatorships and censorship of the press in her piece titled,
Love Forgotten.
Kandanchatha, a Grade 8 student at Falgarwood Public School, addressed the growth of terrorism and hate in the future in her piece titled, The Greater Good.
