More than 4,700 students from Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville attended Grade 12 in the Halton District School Board this year. Of all these students, many graduates are preparing to embark on a new journey at university or college in the fall.
To celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates, we’ve profiled a few of the many students from across our Board who are receiving scholarships and awards for post-secondary education this year.
The Schulich Leader Scholarship is awarded to a student intending to pursue a career in scientific research, technology, engineering or innovation. Schulich Leaders who plan to study science, technology or math can receive a scholarship valued at $80,000 and those planning to pursue an engineering degree can receive a scholarship valued at $100,000.
“At Nelson I was surrounded with teachers and peers who supported my education and the extracurricular endeavors that helped me earn this scholarship,” says Daniel. “My teachers were all encouraging and provided a space to explore the curriculum and grow as a student.”
Daniel plans to attend the University of Toronto and pursue a joint degree in mathematics and physics.
We wish all our graduates success as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
