More than 4,700 students from Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville attended Grade 12 in the Halton District School Board this year. Of all these students, many graduates are preparing to embark on a new journey at university or college in the fall.
To celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates, we’ve profiled a few of the many students from across our Board who are receiving scholarships and awards for post-secondary education this year.
Duncan McCallum, graduate of Milton District HS is a recipient of the G. Melbourne Music Scholarship through the Halton Learning Foundation.
Duncan says his Milton District HS music teacher Mr. Carson-Foster encouraged him to audition for the music scholarship and helped him prepare.
“I have always loved music class and this past year put a lot of time and effort into preparing an audition for post-secondary music studies,” says Duncan. “With the help of my music teachers, I prepared an audition for universities and performed the same music at the New Street Education Centre.”
Duncan plans to study music at McMaster University.
We wish all our graduates success as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
