Community fundaraising logo

As part of an enhanced learning experience in the Halton District School Board, students in elementary and secondary schools learn about the importance of social justice by participating in fundraising campaigns and supporting global and local efforts.

Through these experiences students learn about values such as accountability, relationships and engagement – values that, among others, guide the Board’s 2020-2024 Multi-Year Plan.

Let us know what your schools do to show you care by using the hashtag #HDSBcares on social media!

The following are examples of how schools and staff have supported, and continue to support, fundraising campaigns and their local communities:

Terry Fox Run

Heart and Stroke Foundation

Canadian Cancer Society

The majority of the school’s 1000-plus students took part in a 12-hour daytime event to remember and support those who are affected by cancer.

Since 2003, 10 schools in the Halton District School Board have hosted Relay For Life events and have collectively raised a total of $2,088,302.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
UNICEF

Halton Learning Foundation

Annually, HLF provides about $250,000 in emergency funds to help HDSB students overcome financial barriers to learning.
United Way of Halton and Hamilton
united way of hamilton-halton logoEvery year, staff and students participate in a campaign to fundraise for the United Way of Halton and Hamilton. Even in this challenging year, the HDSB raised $50,357.75 for their local community.
