The Halton District School Board will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony for a new Milton elementary school (Milton SW #12 ps) on
Friday, April 29 at 12:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the school site, located at
815 Kennedy Circle West in Milton (between Regional Road 25 and Thompson Road South).
The school, which is anticipated to open in Fall 2023, has a construction budget of approximately $23.1 million. The Halton District School Board has awarded the architectural tender to +VG Architects of Toronto, and the construction contract to Everstrong Construction of Georgetown.
The school will accommodate 788 Kindergarten to Grade 8 students and will offer English and French Immersion. The three-story accessible school will feature 21st century teaching layouts, air conditioning with individual classroom controls, double gym, bus lay-by and student drop-off area. It also has five childcare rooms which will accommodate 88 students.
In attendance at the ceremony will be Halton District School Board trustees, senior administrative staff, local government officials, area residents and a number of students who will attend the new school once it opens.
