The HDSB Board Improvement Plan has two main purposes:
- To improve student learning, achievement and well-being
- To build capacity and sustainability in the skill and knowledge of educators
The process for developing our Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement and Well-being:
- Analyze system-wide quantitative data to plan specific student achievement goals
- Determine targeted, evidence-based strategies and actions that will deliver gains for student achievement
- Allocate resources including professional learning needed to implement the targeted, evidence-based strategies and activities
- Assign monitoring actions related to implementation
- Evaluate the system-wide progress in meeting identified SMART goals
Our Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement and Well-being is:
- Informed by School Improvement Plans, School-Self Assessments and School Effectiveness Framework
- A precise description of system-wide goals and actions that will lead to improved student learning and achievement for every student.
Specifically, we will:
- Achieve Excellence
- Ensure Equity
- Promote Well-being
- Enhance Public Confidence
