Together we inspire every student to learn, grow, succeed.
(Halton District School Board Multi-Year Plan 2016-2020)
During the past year, the Board has developed and implemented its new Multi-Year Plan for 2016-2020, affirming its vision and strategies for student success. Our value statement –
“Every student will explore and enhance their potential, passions and strengths to thrive as contributing global citizens” – strengthens our commitment in working together in the best interest of all students.
Caring staff at all levels and in every department of our organization, along with parents, volunteers and community are integral partners in the successes of our students. Their accomplishments are showcased in the stories, data and links in this annual report.
We invite you to share in our pride for public education, and celebrate the successes of the Halton District School Board.

Working Together
One of the strengths of this Board of Trustees is our ability to work together as a collaborative team, contributing our individual strengths to focus on student achievement and doing what is best for the Halton District School Board.
In 2015-2016, we worked together on some challenging issues and had some great achievements. We created a new Multi-Year Plan which is the foundation for the future, making sure we are preparing our students and staff with the tools and opportunities they need, setting tangible goals and targets for student success. We balanced the budget while advocating for increased provincial funding, reached collective agreements and contracts with our employees, and provided relevant curriculum and program options for our students. The Program Viability consultation completed with an outcome of a grade 2 entry point for French Immersion. This will allow us to continue our outstanding curriculum and initiatives in all our schools and classrooms across Halton, including programming for student success for both the English and French tracks. The implementation of our Inspire Awards program promoting those who contribute to student achievement and success, and our Close the Gap facility renewal initiative also highlight our support of public education and student achievement.
Collectively, as Trustees, we have the ability to affect change, showcase excellence, promote public education, and that is why we are here – we are committed to supporting Halton District School Board students in their achievements and successes, which are reflected in this annual report.
On behalf of the Halton District School Board of Trustees we are honored to support this Director's Annual Report for 2015-2016.
