From January 4, 2016, Martin Street Public School students are temporary being accommodated at Boyne Public School until the new Martin Street PS is rebuilt.
A letter was sent to Martin Street families on Thursday, November 19 for outlining the details of the transition. Additional information is provided in the Board Report regarding Martin Street PS temporary student accommodation.
It should be noted that the primary basis in the Capital Priorities Business Case for the new rebuild (with the additional pupil places), is to accommodate students generated from new residential development and provide accommodation relief to existing schools that have enrolment exceeding their building capacity. A boundary review is currently underway. The boundary review will have the goal of maximizing the utilization of the rebuilt school, which, with its current boundary, would be extremely underutilized.
