​​​​About the Boundary Review

John T. Tuck PS and Pauline Johnson PS will remain over 100% OTG utilization and will require portables over the next 10 years. Ryerson PS and Tecumseh PS utilization are anticipated to remain low (under 60%) which has the potential to trigger a Program and Accommodation Review. A boundary review to rebalance the enrolments in ERA 102 among its schools was initiated to provide relief to John T. Tuck PS and potentially increase enrolments above the 60% OTG usage for the remaining schools.

Feedback was collected between April 30, 2019 and May 9, 2019.

​Board Report​

The Director's Report (Report 19087) included with recomended boundary changes (Option 3b) was presented to the Board of Trustees for information on June 5th 2019. The Board of Trustees approved the Director's recommendation on June 19th 2019. Additional information is available below. 

The current John T Tuck area north of New St will be phased into Ryerson in 2020.
  • John T Tuck students currently in K-3  who will be in K-4 in 2019 and K-5 in 2020 will be directed to Ryerson PS  in 2020.  Then attend Tecumseh for grades 7 & 8.
  • John T Tuck students currently in grades 4-8  who will be in 5-8 in 2019 and 6-8 in 2020 will remain at John T Tuck until they graduate.  
  • Any new students in 2019, their path will reflect the above two bullets.
  • In 2020, any new student moving into that area will be directed to Ryerson PS, for K-6 and Tecumseh 7 & 8.

Boundary​​ Review Committee (BRC)

A Boundary Review Committee will be esta​blished with composed of;
  • A non-affected Superintendent and a non-affected Trustee will jointly chair the Boundary Review Committee
  • All members of the Steering Committee (for more information see School Boundary Administrative Procedure)
  • Parent​ representatives from all affected communities 
Principals of affected schools are not on the Committee but may be called upon to verify information as required. 

The BRC is mandated to examine boundary options and to provide feedback. A preferred option(s) will be developed and recommended to the Boundary Review Steering Committee.​
