About the Boundary Review
Be it resolved that the Halton District School Board direct staff to undertake a school
boundary review for the two communities north of Upper Middle Road and west of
Bronte Road in ERA 114 (Village Common/Chateau Common to the north and
Deerview Common/Trawden Way to the south) that are currently attending Heritage
Glen PS (ERA 115) with an expected completion date of no later than February 2020.
Boundary Review Initiation Report (19109)
A letter was sent to families with children in Palermo PS and Heritage Glen PS on November 22, 2019 as notification of the review process proceeding.
A follow up letter was sent to families with children in Palermo PS and Heritage Glen PS on December 17, 2019.
A letter was sent to the community on December 2, 2019, as notification of the review process.
A letter was sent to families with children in Palermo PS and Heritage Glen PS on February 20, 2020, as notification for the boundary approved by Board of Trustee.

The Director's Report (Report 20018) linked with recommended boundary changes (Option 1) was presented to the Boarad or Trustees for information on February 5th, 2020. The Board of Trustees approved the recommended boundary change February 19th, 2020.

Boundary Review Steering Committee (BRSC)
Once the Board has approved the initiation of a school boundary review, the Superintendent of the affected Family of Schools will establish the Boundary Review Steering Committee and lead the school boundary review process. This committee will consist of:
- Family of Schools Superintendent(s) of all affected areas
- Superintendent from a non-affected area
- Senior Manager of Planning Services
- Trustee(s) for all of the affected areas, including Trustee who will co-chair the Boundary Review Committee
As necessary, the committee may also include the following supplementary members:
- Superintendent of Program
- Superintendent of Business Services
- Superintendent of Student Services
The affected school Superintendent will chair the committee. The Steering Committee will review school enrolments, school capacities and school programs. It should be noted that the Boundary Review Steering Committee is not a decision making body and does not make the final decision regarding any potential change to boundaries as a result of a School Boundary Review Process.
