On November 2, 2016, the Board of Trustees approved to undertake a school boundary review for the new Martin Street PS.
As of March 1, 2017 the Board of Trustees voted unanimously on scenario 12b for the 2017-2018 school year.
About the Boundary Review
The Board received Capital Priorities funding approval for a new Martin Street PS facility to be rebuilt. The primary basis in the Capital Priorities Business Case for the new rebuild (with the additional pupil places), is to accommodate students generated from new residential development and provide accommodation relief to existing schools that have enrolment exceeding their building capacity. The boundary review will have the goal of maximizing the utilization of the rebuilt school, which, with its current boundary, would be extremely underutilized.
The Martin Street Public School's new boundary will be as follows:
New Martin Street Public School
English Programs offered in 2017-18: Junior Kindergarten ‐ Grade 6 English, Grade 7 English to be added in September 2018 and Grade 8 English to be added in September 2019. French Immersion Program offered in 2017-2018- Grades 2 - 6, Grade 7 FI to be added in September 2018 and Grade 8 FI to be added in September 2019.
Anne J. MacArthur Public School
Families who reside in the Escarpment View English boundary who have children attending Anne J. MacArthur - Students enrolled in the French Immersion program will now attend Martin Street Public School - Grades 2-6
JM Denyes Public School
Students who are currently in grade 5 will attend WI Dick Public School instead of Sam Sherratt Public School for grades 6-8
Sam Sherratt Public School

Note: If your child(ren) is scheduled to move schools for the 2017-2018 school year as a result of the boundary changes, they will automatically be registered at their newly assigned school and their records will be transferred accordingly. Therefore, there is no need for you to register your child at their newly assigned school.
Please note that current students of Martin Street PS are
temporarily being accommodated at Boyne PS while the new facility is being built.
