About The Review
Students from a rural area located in South Milton/North Oakville (bounded by Highway 407 to the south, Lower Base Line to the north, Tremaine Road to the west, Fourth Line to the east) currently attend Milton schools, Sam Sherratt PS (ERA 119) and Elsie MacGill SS/Milton District HS (SRA 104) for the English program and Oakville schools, Sunningdale PS (ERA 116) and White Oaks SS (SRA 102) for the French Immersion program.
Planning Services is recommending a boundary review to be initiated with the scope of determining whether the current status quo is to be maintained or explore if all students within the study area can be directed to schools in the same municipality to avoid split English and French Immersion cohorts.
The following schools are to be included in the study:
- Milton - Milton SW #11 PS, Sam Sherratt PS, Viola Desmond PS, Craig Kielburger SS, Elsie MacGill SS, Milton District HS,
- Oakville - River Oaks PS, Sunningdale PS, White Oaks SS
Be It Resolved That, the Halton District School Board direct staff to complete a boundary review for ERA 120 and 123 and SRA 104 and 105 with the objective of eliminating split cohorts for the French Immersion program.
