Boundaries Approved by the Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees has approved the following recommendations from Report 23024 at the March 1, 2023 Board Meeting.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Halton District School Board adjust the boundaries for Ethel Gardiner PS and Silver Creek PS English program as outlined in Option 5, as detailed in Report 23024, effective September 2023
THAT the Halton District School Board permits students currently attending Grade 7 as of March 1, 2023, at Ethel Gardiner that is impacted by the boundary changes to be granted a legacy exemption to finish their Grade 8 year (2023-24) at Ethel Gardiner PS, with transportation; and,
THAT the Halton District School Board allow new students moving into Zone E1 following March 1, 2023, be given the opportunity to enrol at Silver Creek PS immediately.

South Georgetown PS New Boundaries
Ethel Gardiner PS and Silver Creek PS Boundary Review Background
On December 7, 2022, the Board of Trustees directed staff to complete a boundary review process for Georgetown south, as recommended in report
22148, as per the following:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Halton District School Board direct staff to complete a boundary review for ERA 124 (Georgetown South) with the objective of addressing accommodation pressures;
The established School Boundary Review Committee (BRC) reviewed a number of options as part of the process (listed below), and presented two options to the community to gather feedback.

Public Consultation Meeting
The HDSB invited feedback on the impact of each option presented prior to and after the Public Information Meeting. Feedback closed at 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. The data collected was presented to the BRC and BRSC at the January 30th BRC meeting.
Based on that feedback, the BRC recommended that Option 5 be presented to Senior Staff for consideration. Senior staff concurred with the recommendation, and presented it to the Board of Trustees for consideration and approval for first review on February 1, 2023, then for final approval on February 15, 2023.
On February 17, 2022, the Board communicated to families the outcome of the Boundary Review Study, and will be working with the affected communities to ensure a smooth transition. For additional information on the transition process, please reach out to your school administration
